What Would Happen If Earth Was Flat?

Things so far, in the last 4.6 billion years of the existence of our planet, have all been elliptical. Trust me, nothing seems better than a round, spherical world with lots of weird happenings.
We all seemed to be getting used to the structure of our planet that we almost cannot imagine how life would turn out for us if it became flat, or how life would have been if it had been flat from the start.
These days, assumptions are made quite easily, most of which are coupled with real facts that explain various aspects of the universe.
A flat Earth for us would mean a lot of things.
And also, a flat Earth would cause a lot of things. In this article, I'm not trying to outline the existence of a flat Earth, as we all know, the Earth is elliptical.
But let's dive into what would and might happen if the Earth were to be flat, instead of partially round as it is normally portrayed.

What If The Earth Was Flat?

The Earth is not flat, but what if it was? At the end of this article is a video to leave you with an idea of what it means to live on a flat Earth. Living on flat Earth isn't much of a bad idea for many, but with the weird things happening, people would be no doubt, left with a second option;

What Would Happen If Earth Was Flat?
Alot of things would happen if Earth turned out flat, let's find out what.

Same Timezone
Night would fall at the same instant for every location on Earth as the sun passed below the flat horizon, which means everyone in the world would experience the same day and the same night at the same time.
Since different parts of Earth enter and exit daylight at different times, we need different time zones because of Earth's elliptical structure, but when it becomes flat, it all just flattens into one time zone, end of story.

 Stressful Movement
Our spherical world has a gravitational pull on everything within its field. This gravitational pull doesn't just pull on us aimlessly. Instead, it pulls us towards centre of the Earth.
This is in no way different from the gravitational mechanism of a flat Earth. Although, it may have edges, but its gravitational pull takes us to no other place but its centre. But how does this lead to stressful movement?

Now, when you try moving towards the edge of your flat Earth, the gravitational pull on you becomes stronger, and the further you go towards its edge, the strongest it becomes.
You can imagine how stressful it would be when we start using all of our strength to walk. It would be much similar to running uphill.

Enhanced Visibility
On our spherical Earth, looking over the sea at an approaching ship seems a bit weird, like the ship is ascending from the sea over the distance. This is because of the round structure of the Earth, and can be seen in the illustration below.

On a flat Earth, we would be able to see ships immediately they appear into view, and no doubt, see farther away without much effort.
In other words, if the earth was flat we could see much further across the earth than if it is elliptical.
But if the Earth was flat, would we fall into space after jumping over the edge?

This video should help you understand a few things as regards that, and don't forget to share this article with your friends. You don't have to, but I would appreciate it if you could.
Stay tuned and thanks for reading.
