Why Are Most Plants Green?

Season's Greetings

Plants are almost everywhere, you know?
Ranging from our front lawns to our backyards, to Street parks, and even down into the woods closest to us. For years, we've seen it this way, some of us wondering why just one colour dominated.
Well, it's good news you came across this article, cause today, you get to know. Stick with me.

Short Answer: Chlorophyll is a responsible factor for the green colour in plants.

Chloroplasts are organelles found in the cells of plants. Usually, they are specialized components that contain a pigment known as Chlorophyll.

Characterized by its high concentration of chlorophyll, Chloroplast is also known as a plastid (a major double-membrane organelle). The main objective of Chloroplasts is to conduct photosynthesis through its possession of chlorophyll, which captures, converts, and stores energy from sunlight.

The Green Colour Of Plants

Chlorophyll, which is contained in the Chloroplast, is a green pigment. It absorbs other colours of light except for green. So in a way, it becomes the only visible colour since it isn't absorbed and then leaves the plant with a green colour.
Stay tuned.
