Many of us would have noticed how quite often old people and children easily get sick over time, no doubt we would have assumed it's just the way their bodies are. Partially, this is true. But let's get familiar with a few things on why children and old people get sick quickly.
The central fact is, children, don't have a fully developed immune system. Because of this, the rate of protection from minor ailments is reduced. In their daily activities, they pick up germs and bacteria from dirty surfaces, unclean water and from other children. And this can cause them to be sick when their underdeveloped immune system isn't strong enough.
Old people, on the other hand, are much more vulnerable to diseases, due to their age. Their old age weakens the over-used immune system, thereby leading to a higher risk of falling ill on a regular basis.

Most times, children seem to be vulnerable to a common ailment, Cold.
They always seem to catch a cold now and then, and this is as a result of their underdeveloped immune system. But unless they grow older, these minor ailments won't stop.
BUT WHY DO ADULTS AND TEENAGERS NOT FALL SICK EASILY?
Adults have spent more years living than children. And when it takes a few years from birth for the immune system to be fully developed, it means they have a developed immune system compared to children's. Adults have had enough time to acquire the antibodies that defend the body from viruses and germs. In other words, they have a high level of immunity against diseases.

As for old people, they are affected by their age. Our immune system is a form of cells, tissues, and organs that work together to protect the human body. But as we keep aging, the immune system works day and night to ward off different forms of ailments, getting weaker as we grow, and one day, eventually weakens, causing old age diseases to penetrate.
But how do we reduce these chances of getting sick?
Eating good food can really help the immune system. Fruits contain vitamins which can support the immune system and doing this on a regular basis can help a lot.

Also, working out doesn't sound bad. It's a vital step towards improving the immune system and I bet toddlers would always wanna try it out.
Stay tuned.
