Why Are Most Airplanes Painted White?

Most of us would have asked this question in the past, seeing airplanes thousands of feet in the sky, or when we visited the airport to board one. Almost all of these machines we see are white. Although, some might have touches of other colours, but majorly, it's a white, white, white and another white. Let's look into some things, shall we?

White Airplanes Have Thermal Reflection
Science has proven the colour white to be a very good sunlight reflector. The colour white reflects practically all the sunlight that falls on it, thereby reducing the rate at which heat is generated. But when airplanes are painted in a colour other than white, sunlight gets absorbed and the whole place becomes heated. This can reduce the time needed for a plane to cool, so that it could get itself on another round of flight.
Airplanes that are painted white also help engineers and repair specialists notice cracks and dent that appear to be on the plane. Therefore, reducing the chances of devastating faults during flight.

 Similarly, the white colour also helps in the notice of oil spill-over and oil leaks. Furthermore, the white colour of places also assist rescuers in spotting the planes, especially at night.
So when a friend or anyone at all asks you why airplanes we are usually painted white, let them know how important that colour is.
