Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a big word and sure you've heard a lot about it starting from myths, rumors and made-up stories. In 19th century, Vienna physicians Anton Meaner gained fame for using magnetized objects to cure patients. He claimed that illness was caused by blockages of an invisible bodily fluid and that his technique of animal magnetic (later named Mesmerism in his honor) would restore the fluids normal flow.

How hypnosis cures Dementia.
Scientifically, hypnosis plays a great role as it is a derived means of treating Dementia. In the united states, about 25% of psychology Ph.D programs offer a course in hypnosis (walling et al. 1998). Basic scientists exploring whether hypnosis is a unique state of altered consciousness, put its claims to a rigorous test.
Hypnosis induction is the process by which one person (a researcher or hypnotist) leads another person (the subject) into hypnosis. A hypnotist may invite the subject to sit down, relax, gaze at an object on the wall; then in a quiet voice, the hypnotist may suggest that the subjects eyes are becoming heavy and tired. The goal is to relax subject nd increase his or her concentration . Contrary to popular belief, people cannot be hypnotized against their wills. Even when people want to be hypnotized, they differ in law susceptible(I.e responsible) they are so hypnotic suggestions.
Hypnotic susceptibility scales contain a standard series of pass-fail suggestions that are read to a subject after a hypnotic induction.
Myths about hypnosis.
Overtime, the word hypnosis brings people to tremble and sweat dues to myths heard about it.
The thing is most their belief of hypnotism on stage acts rather than taking into account that stage hypnotists screen their volunteers to select those who are cooperative. Due to stage acts, myths about hypnosis have popped up and brought about misconception. For example, some myths say hypnosis forces the truth out of you(I.e you can't lie during hypnotism) this is totally false. In fact, under hypnosis, you can prefer to be the biggest liar in the whole universe at that moment. An individual being hypnotized by an hypnotist can suggest reveral like "Right now when I ask you some questions, tell me the biggest slanderous answer ever"
Another myth without a possible factual basis is that there is no difference between hypnosis and sleep. This is also an untrue fact. Even though an hypnotized subject (I.e the person under hypnosis) appears to close his here's for a reasonable period of time, he is still very much aware of his environment, hence , he is not sleeping.
Like I said earlier, myths about hypnosis brings misconceptions, for example, a myth that a person who just came out of hypnosis can have amnesia. In case you are confused what amnesia is, here's a simple meaning . To always remember what amnesia is, get it stuck that it is simply loss of memory. Those three words can help you build a rigid if the situation warrants it.
Okay people, back to the myths. Well according to the research, only a small percentage of subjects who go into very deep levels of trance have quick and spontaneous amnesia(this is short termed).
most people remember everything that happened when they are hypnotised.
Can You Get Stuck In Hypnosis?
some fictional movies with scenes of a hypnosis session may present that a subject is stuck in hypnosis. This is a myth as hypnosis isn't a quick sand where you can get stuck in. Hypnosis is very safe. It isn't dangerous and if you get hypnotised, you are definitely gonna snap out of it. You can com out of a hypnotic state by merely opening your eyes or speaking. Hypnosis is a natural phenomena, we enter and come out of hypnosis every course of the day. In a situation where a hypnotist is unable to emerge the subject from hypnosis, the subject will regain alertness on his own. The subject can divert to a naturally occurring sleep 💤. Or become fully conscious in no time, depending on the person's need for sleep. To bring the myth of being stuck in hypnosis to a conclusion, this myth is literally busted.
