Are Bats Really Blind?
Hello there again, people!
This is yet another article and this one's a mi,d blower. If you happen to be a vast reader or a type of person who is inquisitive, what you are about to read might be a lot smoother for you, but if you aren't, I designed it in a way that you would understand.
Okay so if I ask you this question. Can bats see in the day, about 80% of your mind would tell you NO. There are tons on reasons why you should think so, for instance you hardly see bats while you come from school or when you wake up, unlike other birds you see everyday. But I can tell you, bats can see things almost as clear as humans
Echolocation
This is a system bats use to see at night. At night, bats need their ears more than they need their eyes. It is as funny as it sounds. Bats use this sonar system method to see at night I.e, they make use of echoes to navigate and locate objects at night. It is bot necessarily at night, this method comes in handy in places with little or no light. As bats fly, they make sounds which are way to high for humans to hear(although there's a probability that kids hear it). This is how it work, when they make those shouts, it echoes right at them if there's an obstacle ahead, but if there isn't, they get no echo, this is an "okay coast is clear" to them. The most fascinating thing is that the echo sent back if there's an obstacle relays a piece of information about the size, shake and object of the object. So they know when to duck.
Stay tuned for more...
